    ATTENTION:  7th Grade Parents

    All students going into the 7th grade must have proof of having the TDAP booster shot.  This new requirement will help protect your child and others from whooping cough.  THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD OR EXTENSION FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR.  All 7th grade students will need to show proof of TDAP immunization or submit an exemption before the 2018-2019 school year begins.  Students will not be able to start school until documentation for the TDAP is submitted to the office.

    End of the Year Returns and Items Distribution Process

    • This will be a drive-thru service only in the back loop, 235 Lawrence Lane (by the gym)

    • Place a sheet of paper on the passenger side dashboard with the following information:

    • Student Last Name, First Name (Large Bold Print)


    Students will return the following items: (Please place all items in your trunk to ensure contactless delivery)

    • Textbooks

    • Library books

    • Chromebooks (if borrowed from the school)

    • Headphones (if borrowed from the school)

    • School loaned instruments


    Students will receive the following items: (item will be placed in your trunk to ensure contactless distribution)

    • Manila Envelope with their recognition items (8th graders only)

    • Personal items left in classrooms (if applicable)

    • Yearbooks (if ordered)

    • Medications (if applicable)

    In order to limit the amount of exposure for you and our staff members we are requesting families follow these important steps prior to driving to the school campus:

    1.     If possible, please wipe clean the outer surfaces of each Chromebook using a slightly damp cloth.

    2.    Use a post-it note or tape a small piece of paper to the inside of the Chromebook with your child’s name and grade level.

    3.     Stay in your car and a staff member will come to you and ask for your information. 

    4.     Place the Chromebook and charger (or accessories) in a plastic bag and place the bag in the trunk of your car for easy access.

    Beginning on Monday 4/20: Students who need to pick up materials can do so on Mondays at 11:00 am - 12:00 pm  at the front of the school. 

    Students who left anything in their PE lockers can also pick up items on Mondays from 11:00am-12:00pm.

    Our school earned its re-designation as a Schools to Watch California and National Model Middle School.  We are very proud of this accomplishment because it points to all the hard work and commitment from our students and staff.  Way to go Bobcats!

    Mindfulness tips

    Below is a list of activities you can try to add a bit of mindfulness into your day!

    1. Adult coloring books. Relieve stress by requiring concentration and focus

    2. Take morning walks. Getting outside and just enjoy nature, listen to the sounds of the surroundings, and notice your breathing and heartbeat.

    3. Try yoga. Yoga can be beneficial in many ways, by helping to firm your body, improve your ability to clear your mind. 

    4. Do breathing exercises first thing in the morning. Before you start your day, take 5 minutes to do some breathing exercises. 

    5. The Mindful App:   Includes specific sessions on Corona Resilience.  Also includes sessions for relaxation, stress relief, focus, relationships, and sleep

    Turkey Trot for Schools

    Please join us in supporting the 6th Annual Brentwood Turkey Trot for Schools to raise funds for BUSD and LUHSD athletic programs.
